Does it seem incredible to anyone else that one of the largest land predators would make it's home in such an inhospitable environment? To me they seem unconquerable. An ethologist told me once that although black and grizzly bears (even lions and tigers) can be tamed or trained, polar bears cannot. I'll admit that I've never seen one in a performance of any kind. They have such majesty and power but in an elegant dichotomy they also can posses such serenity and gentleness. That is what I wanted to try to capture. |
